Marco is a Glasgow-born Dj /
producer / promoter and keyboard
player.
Fresh from his winter tour of Thailand, he returns to Ibiza for his sixth season.
Having held down full time DJ residencies in Dubai, U.K, Tenerife, USA and most
notably Ibiza it is fair to say that he is no stranger to rocking dance-floors
across the globe.
He has been involved in the music industry for the last nine years. He started
djing professionally in Manchester when he was seventeen whilst studying music
technology at college.
He is a versatile Dj that plays house and electro for the clubs whilst playing
chillout, chilled house and funk for the beaches. He has made a huge impact in
Ibiza over the last five years, gaining residencies at all his favourite venues.
He is the promoter and resident Dj for Ibiza Groove which has been held weekly
at Hush for three years. The concept for the night is to perform house music
live with singers, percussionists and saxophonists. Marco also plays keyboards
whilst djing at some of the parties. He also resides at Hush on Thursdays with
Dj Da Sendri, the two have often played back to back at Gladrags, Ibiza Groove,
Eden, Es Pardis and Manumission under the alias ’Da Locos’.
Marco is also the promoter and
resident Dj for Shipwrecked boat
parties. He hosts and promotes every party with a variety of guest Djs
and the party has been full to capacity every week.
Due to the success of Ibiza Groove
and Shipwrecked, Marco won the
best Dj of San Antonio award in 2006.
As a Dj, he has an equally strong reputation for his more chilled/alternative
sets as he has with his club sets.
In 2004, he became the first resident Dj at Guarana on Salinas Beach. He
accumulated a massive following over two years which unfortunately led to the
bar getting fines for music and crowd levels getting a bit out of control. The
bar then decided to revert to their old non-Dj style. However, he is now back at
Salinas Beach with his new residency at
Sa Trinxa lined up for 2008.
He has also held a residency at Es Vive Hotel for the last three years. He plays
every Monday and the night is known as one of the coolest afterparties on the
island. The music style is a lot deeper than the rest of Marco’s club gigs which
has worked perfectly for the cool afterhours bar.
He is also resident there on Fridays for the
Smirnoff pool parties playing the more chilled vibes by the Es Vive
poolside.
Marco’s main ambition in Ibiza
has always been Space. He played
a few guest slots in 2006 and was then offered a residency in August 2007;
playing every Sunday on the Premier Etage showcasing a cool unique blend of
funk, disco and groovy chilled house.
He gained another residency shortly after, playing every Monday on Global radio
alongside Miguel Garji.
In addition to his busy Dj schedule, he is also heavily involved with production.
He started playing the piano when he was four and this has helped him to develop
both as a Dj and a producer. He completed his first chillout track last year
called “The Music n’ You”, which has
been signed to Midem records. After completing the original, he was quick to
finish the beach house and club remixes which has enabled Marco to play all the
mixes regularly at his various gigs.
Last summer, he completed his first major club track "The
Lighthouse Effect" which has been signed to Jean Records.
Marco also goes under the alias "Audio
Groove" for his production with Dubai based Dj/ producer ’Mr Mr’. The
pair were responsible for creating the massive remix of "Heater"
last summer which quickly became the most exclusive, sought after mix on the
island.
Watch this space for his new productions, he has three new tracks scheduled for

voor zijn zesde seizoen.
Terwijl hij eerder full time DJ residencies vervulde in Dubai, U.K, Tenerife, USA
en meest opvallend op Ibiza it is op zijn plaats om te zeggen dat hij
bekend is op de dansvloeren op gehele aardbol.
Hij was de afgelopen negen jaar betrokken bij de muziek industrie. He
begon met professioneel djing in Manchester waar hij op zeventienjarige
leeftijd muziek
technologie studeerde.
Hij is een veelzijdige Dj die house en electro speelt in de clubs
terwijl hij
chillout, chilled house en funk speelt op de stranden. Hij heeft de afgelopen
vijf jaar een geweldige indrukl gemaakt op Ibiza, terwijl hij resident
was in al zijn favoriete tenten.
Hij is de promoter en resident Dj voor Ibiza Groove
dat 3 jaar lang wekelijks werd gehouden in
Hush. Het concept voor de avond
is om house music live te performen met zangers, percussionisten en saxofonisten. Marco
speelt ook keyboards
tijdens het dj’en op sommige parties. Hij draait ook vast in Hush op
donderdagen met
Dj Da Sendri, beiden speelden vaak zij aan zij op
Gladrags, Ibiza Groove,
Eden, Es Pardis en Manumission onder het alias ’Da Locos’.
Marco is ook de promoter en
resident Dj vijor Shipwrecked boat
parties. He host en promotes elk feest met een gevarieerd aanbod van gast
DJs tot een afgevulde avond elke week.
Door het success van Ibiza Groove
en Shipwrecked, won
Marco de award voor
beste Dj van San Antonio in 2006.
Als Dj, heeft hij een evensterke reputatie door zijn meer chilled/alternative
sets als hij heeft met zijn club sets.
In 2004, werd hij eerste resident Dj in Guarana op
het strand van Salinas. Hij pakte de volgende twee jaar masaal uit wat
helaas uitliep op boetes en oncontroleerbare hoeveelheden mensen De
bar besloot toen terug te keren naar hun oude non-Dj style. Hoe dan ook, hij is nu
terug op
Salinas Beach met zijn nieuwe residency
in
Sa Trinxa lined up voor 2008.
Hij heeft de afgelopen 3 jaar ook een residency gehad bij Es Vive Hotel.
Hij speelt er iedere maandag en de avond staat bekend als een van de coolste afterparties op
het eiland. De muziek style gaat veel dieper dan de andere club gigs van Marco’s
die perfekt werkten voor de cool afterhours bar.
Hij is er ook resident op vrijdagen voor de
Smirnoff pool parties waar hij de meer chilled vibes speelt naast het Es Vive
zwembad.
Marco’s belangrijkste ambitie in Ibiza
was altijd Space. Hij
speelde een paar gas slots in 2006 en kreeg toen in augustus 2007een residency
aangeboden; waarbij elke zondag op de eerste verdieping een staaltje van
zijn coole uniieke mix van funk, disco en groovy chilled house liet
horen.
Hij sleepte daarna een andere residency binnen, waarbij hij elke maandag
voor Global radio
speelde naast Miguel Garji.
Als aanvulling op zijn drukke Dj agenda, is hij ook erg betrokken bij
het produceren.
Hij begon op vierjarige
leeftijd met pianospelen en dat heeft hem geholpen zich te ontwikkelen
als zowel DJ als producer. Hij leverde vorigjaar zijn eerste chillout
track genaamd “The Music n’ You”,
uitgebracht onder Midem records. Na het opleveren van het origineel
volgden snel de beach house en club remixes waardoor het voor Marco
mogelijk werd alle mixes regelmatig te spelen op zijn uiteenlopende gigs.
Afgelopen zomer, leverde hij zijn eerste grote club track "The
Lighthouse Effect" uitgebracht door Jean Records.
Marco is ook bekend onder de alias "Audio
Groove" voor zijn productie met de in Dubai wonende Dj/ producer ’Mr Mr’.
Het stel was verantwoordelijk voor de creatie van de geweldige remix van "Heater"
afgelopen zomer dat al snel de meest exclusieve en meest gevraagde mix op
het eiland werd.
